Sculptor Creates A Series Of Weird But Amazing Boomboxes For Retrospective Exhibition

As if art couldn't get more interesting!!! Here we are gonna take some time to speak about the creative visual artist Tom Sachs. In expressing his love for music he uses the systems that play it to build masterpieces, but wait! Are all of these Boombox sculptures fully functional? indeed they are!

“I hooked my Sony Walkman up to a set of mini speakers and velcroed them to a block of scrap plywood. It was a clusterfuck of wires,” he says in the press release for Tom Sachs: Boombox Retrospective 1999–2015.

“In 8th grade woodshop, I made a box for the whole mess out of pine,” Sachs continues. “It had a knob to hang the headphones that was made out of a broomstick."

Tom Sachs: Boombox Retrospective 1999–2015 will run at The Contemporary Austin, Texas, from January 24 until April 19. The exhibition features a total of 15 sculptures.
